Our Thesis

Our thesis for the FounderDojo Accelerator is based on the observation and belief that if we partner with aspiring entrepreneurs who have heart, and teach them the skill of getting insight from Customers and integrating this insight into product and business model design, we will increase startup success rate compared to leading accelerators.

This thesis is bolstered by our initial pilot tests where we showed an increase in startup success rate of 207x versus Y-Combinator (83% vs. 0.4%). With the launch of the Accelerator, we are expanding the number of Founders to get more N and have a greater impact on the startup ecosystem.

Selection Criteria

Insight-Driven Iteration Skills

We are looking for Founders that have the ability to integrate Customer insight into their product & business model. Founders that participate in our Founder Transformation program have an advantage because we know them better.

Alignment & Higher Purpose

We like entrepreneurs who build startups because that’s who they are. Entrepreneurs are a rare breed. Perhaps they are a mutation. We estimate only about 5% of the population are born this way. They build startups because it’s their purpose in life to change things.

Heart

In order to succeed in building a startup, you must have heart. Heart is difficult to find but we know it when we see it.

Heart is a combination of conviction, determination, resilience, grit, open mindedness, alignment and spiritual power.

Inspired Ideas

Everyone has different perspective on the ideas that resonate with them. We are looking for Founders that are working on ideas that resonate with us. This isn’t about the merits of the idea. It’s about whether we want to work on this particular idea with the Founders.
